Dear all,

I have a Plextor PX-S88TU external USB CD Writer, but I'm unable
to use it.
I compile the kernel (vanilla 2.4.20) with usbcore, usb-storage and other USB driver support like module other than some SCSI driver.
When I connect the device with dmesg I see:
Code:

# demsg
hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-2, assigned address 4
usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x93b/0x0) is not claimed by any active driver.

At www.linux-usb.org I had see that this plextor is supported by usb driver

Details for: Plextor CD-R PX-S88T Status
( external CD-RW drive ) ( Category: Mass Storage )
ID 0x93b:0x0
Driver usb-storage
Linux-USB link
Vendor link http://www.plextor.be
Comment Works excellent (reading and writings CDs). Tested with Red Hat 7.2 kernel 2.7.4 (as it comes out of the box), a custom 2.4.16 and 2.4.18 kernel and XCDRoast. Even BurnProof gets activated. Just insert module usb-storage.

I tried to connect/disconnect the device but I have the same messages:

hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-2, assigned address 3
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x93b/0x0) is not claimed by any active driver.
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:1d.0-2 address 3
hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-1, assigned address 4
usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x93b/0x0) is not claimed by any active driver.

This drive is USB 2.0 compliant? If the answer is yes you must load/compile-in your kernel usb 2.0 module
