Hi :)

Have you tried to set the Minimum Font Size and the Display resolution?

My values:
- Font size: 12
- Resolution: 96dpi

Cheers,

Have you emerged corefonts? A lot of web sites that do not define fonts will default to the linux ones, which I have found to be much smaller. Emerging corefonts seemed to work for me, but that is only for websites that were built using fonts like georgia or verdana.

For font setup see the Xorg and Fonts HOWTO, especially the section about DPI setup. On my machines I use 98 and 133 dpi, respectively.

Emerge x11-themes/gtk-engines-qt. This provides a way of influencing the look and feel of gtk applications (such as firefox) through the KDE environment.

In the KDE control centre select "GTK Styles and Fonts" from "Appearance & Themes". At this point you can choose to use the KDE style for GTK apps, and more importantly the KDE fonts. This will make the UI fonts look OK for GTK apps under KDE.

In firefox (Preferences > Content > Fonts) I have the display resolution set to "System setting", both proportional and monospace set to 13 (pixels) and get a firefox rendering very similar to konquerors.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, this was a good suggestion. It seems to have fixed that major annoyance.

I fixed that problem with this:

Code:
emerge corefonts

Code:
fc-cache

Code:
X -configure

and throw the xorg.conf.new to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and edited some things like the monitor, video settings, etc and my fonts were AA.
