Don't miss the new beautiful pixmapmenu feature by uncommenting the following line in:
/usr/share/amsn/gui.tcl
package require pixmapmenu

This (finally) removes the horrible tcl mouse cursor in the menus.

Also use Edited ebuilds for version 8.5a4 of tcl and tk to get antialiased fonts:
tcl-8.5.0.ebuild
tk-8.5.0.ebuild

It's seems it's working fine for you, but it fails on some computers and sometimes, has a strange behaviour.
That explains why it's commented in amsn's code. (We could have removed it, but we don't want to lose this interesting piece of code)
Then, if you have bugs with that feature, just don't report them, as we won't reply. But if you want to improve it, do it !

(The same goes for tcl/tk 8.5 that we don't support, but if you have bugs with those versions, we may fix them :))

I am very well aware of that, but it is actually working perfectly until now on my machine :) So all I'm saying is, give it a try you got nothing to lose. Many bugs have actually been fixed for me and this one is more stable on my box:
  • I had a bug with tabs with 0.95. Tabs just crashed amsn everytime (maybe due to tcl/tk 8.5) and this has been fixed with this new version.
  • Also, my custom states were not being saved with 0.95, they are saved now ;)
You can always roll back to the previous version if not happy

Nop not that I know of... it is pixmap, so by definition I guess you need additional pixmaps to change that.
Future skins will probably include them?

I know that skins from [GUS] (kubuntu, ubuntu, amsn live messenger, and maybe more ...) will have some use of pixmaps menus.
But other skins won't use that feature.

PS: Only frenchies in that thread ?

Am I french? :P
By the way, I will browse the aMSN forums as this must be a known issue, but the Desktop Integration plugin messes up file transfers...

Ah, I know, you've seen my ftp host at free.fr ;) But I'm from Bristol, very long story indeed...

About the Deskyop Integration plugin, be sure to use the one from the svn. And i don't know if it's author still give support for it, or even if it's a known issue.

Can't find the plugin in the svn snapshot. Apparently, the author hasn't updated it yet.
The bug is confirmed in the forums so... let's just wait and see ;)
Don't miss out the nice discussion in this thread : http://amsn.sourceforge.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1153&highlight=desktop

EDIT: the plugin is in trunk/amsn-extras/plugins/desktop_integration
The 1.0 in SVN fixes the bug indeed ;) C'est du Sans Faute pour les développeurs, encore Bravo !!

Thanks.
We should update the plugins and the skins web pages.

Yes, it was from amsn-extras, was clear in my mind , but not for you, sorry.
