mm-sources-2.5.69 and pcmcia-cs

I'm trying out the mm-sources 2.5.69 kernel. Since PCMCIA support can be built into the kernel and supposedly works, do I also need to emerge pcmcia-cs after building this kernel?

Yes you need to emerge pcmcia-cs which will only compile the utilities like cardtctl, cardmgr needed to manage the pcmcia services.
