after installing gentoo, i decided to run emerge --update --ask world. this is immediately after the install and it gave me an error saying i had a couple files that can't be on the same machine together (something about /login/pam IIRC). it said to run emerge --pretend. well, i got to messing with stuff, and trying to update and i kept getting that warning about the file and nothing would happen. so i finally ran --depclean which looked like it got rid a bunch of stuff, i'm assuming was related to that file. then i ran emerge --update --deep world which is installing some 55 things... is this normal behavior? |

Some packages are blocked because other packages are installed that have same function. These packages could be selected because you set a certain USE flag that wasn't there before, for example. This happens more, no need to worry if you can fix it ... _________________ Ep2.nl | Developers Community |
