Change your default mirror, as a matter of fact just comment your GENTOO_MIRRORS line in make.conf and use the default mirror, then run an emerge --sync and try again. _________________ IRC!: #zen-sources on irc.rizon.net

Everything is in the gentoo handbook, I suggest reading or atleast overviewing it before proceeding to gentoo.

When you select Portage, Enter URL of snapshot URI. Maybe, you will find "portage-latest.tar.bz2" from the nearest mirror. (Use firefox or other GUI browser. Thery are helpful to copy long URL.)
To enter snapshot URI, you may have to enter stagefile URI in the preceding screen. |

The problem is "Portage tree in the LiveCD is too old".
So. we need get the newest portage tree from mirror sites.
One way is select the "rsync" or "snapshot" in the Portage Tree section. Installer will get the newest poratge tree.
Another way is "Make all system from LiveCD packages without network".
Quote: | Since you are performing an installation without an internet connection, you must check GRP Install as well as Dynamic from the options present. Everything you need to build your system will then be generated from the files on the LiveCD. |
