I'm going to be in China for a bit this summer and was thinking I might buy a Dragon based PC to play around with. I assume I'd be able to install RedFlag on it, but I would much rather use Gentoo. Does anyone know if this would be possible?

I've used redflag on some AMD systems without any problems.

Likely you can run Gentoo, but you'll have to play around a bit with compiler flags. Likely, you will want to use generic x86, rather than CPU specific, compiler flags.

will be a little slower ... but still has some coolness factors running on a dragon! :-D

if you know of any state-side suppliers of these chips, drop me a PM, I'd love to get my hands on one to play with

I'm an idiot .. the dragon is MIPS based, not x86....

would still likely not be too difficult, and I'd still like to get one to play with!
