Hello
Since yesterday i have a weird problem with my firefox. On certain sites (Gentoo, Slashdot, Bugzilla, ... ) I get a weird font problem. Certain text areas using the standard font just disappear (well, turn white actually, I can still select it). When I refresh the page or do a page down, the text magically reappears. I have a reference screenshot here (50 kb). I have no idea what might have caused this. It's a firefox-only issue, other programs like evince don't have font problems.
I saw some suggestions on changing the display resolution in firefox to the system default: that doesn't work. I also tried using various fonts - doesn't work either. So i'm kind of stuck.
I'm currently on ~x86, using gnome 2.14.1 and firefox 1.5.0.4.
Any suggestions? |

could this be due to an extension you have running ?
try the following:
quit any open running windows of firefox
open a new terminal window
Code: | $ cd .mozilla
$ mv firefox firefox.saved |
that has cleared all your firefox preferences, extensions, themes, etc ..
now, restart firefox and browse to one of the sites that does not work ..
if this works, then something in your preferences (including themes / extensions) is likely at fault ..
either way, post your results .. _________________ All reality is the construct of the observer.

Well, it doesn't seem to be theme/plugin-related, because that suggestion didn't solve anything . |
