More portage problems

Can anyone tell me what's going on here? This surprise came after an emerge sync...

root@cave mojo # emerge -up --deep world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies /
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "(sys-apps/pam-login)".

!!! Problem with ebuild sys-apps/util-linux-2.11z-r3
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

I have this exact same problem , and I cannot emerge -u world because of it. I am dying to have this problem solved / explained.

I have tried unmerging both pam-login and util-linux and then re emerging, which didnt help. I have recreated the ebuild, which didnt help. Is this just a wait a while and then resync problem ?

I am using an athlone XP 2400 +

my cflags ( taken from freehackers, yes my system is stable)

Hmm... I just woke up, did another emerge sync and everything worked fine.
