|
|
I think portage is using a lot of space on my hd.
I have just two big apps: kde and gimp (no OO). And, as I write, have 7.4GB on my hd, it seems a bit too much, doesn't it?
I think portage has filled my partition up with half-built packages and source code. Am I right?
What should I do to clean? |

There are myraids of tools and threads on these Forums dealing with that problem.
Try a search for "clean distfiles portage" and you should find plenty.
The main culprits are /var/tmp/portage which gets cluttered by source trees of failed compiles, and ${DISTDIR} which fills up with the source tarballs, as you suspected.
One of the tools is eclean which you can find in app-portage/gentoolkit. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |
