So I am trying to add a few custom application launchers into the applications menu in gnome and there is this handy little help button. In the gnome help it says, simply open your file manager (file browser?, looks like that from the screenshots) and go to the following URI (typo? url?) applications:///
however that brings up the error Not a valid location, check spelling.
there is also a list of other places you can go by putting similar URI's in, none of them work either.
stumped again...
I really wish i could get into gnome as root, however it stops with the gnome loading screen still up just when the last module thingy loads. |

I have the same problem here. Did you find any solution for it? I add all my custom stuff to the panel but it gets messy with time. |

Take a look at this thread for info on the alacarte menu editor for Gnome. The only change I would make to my instructions on creating an overlay for it is to change "x11-misc" to "gnome-extra" as alacarte will be the official Gnome menu editor when 2.16 is released. |

Moved from Desktop Environments to Duplicate Threads.
See thread sternklang posted for information about editing the Gnome menu. |
