I don't know what is solidbgmenu :) but You can set any picture with "Esetroot /path/to/picture.jpg" or "Esetroot -bgcolor white" for solid color.

Well I screwed around in the /usr/share/commonbox area and found that file that I thought you had to edit. It sees like if you edit this file correctly, you can change the desktop with the click of a mouse in the 'desktop right click thingy' configure area. Probably made no sense. Anyways, I tried to use Esetroot and it said command not found.

You can have your personal menu if You create (or copy the original) /home/YOURNAME/.fluxbox/menu (so You need a file called "menu").
It's safer this way.

About Esetroot: do You have it installed? It comes with Eterm (emerge Eterm -s).
