Why does media-plugins/xmms-mpg123 crash?
I'm only to play through the mad decoder. Is that the reason that the xmms equalizer doesn't work? _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770

| Try running xmms from the command line to see if any error message comes out when it crashes. |

It still crashes.
Playing mp3 with mad is ok, but playing .pls shoutcast streams seems not to work (can't connect to host..). Therefore I'd like to use mpg123. _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770 |

At the moment these. I also have preemption enabled. But mpg123 was never working when I had kernels before 2.6.15 without preemption.
By the way, mpg123 itself works.

You should try compiling with the profile defaults (No LDFLAGS and CFLAGS="-O2 -mtune=G3 -mcpu=G3 -pipe") and see if that fixes it.. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

Ok, I switched make.conf to CFLAGS="-mcpu=750 -mtune=750 -O2 -pipe".
I've done a remerge: | Code: | # emerge -atv xmms-mpg123 mpg123 xmms
These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] media-sound/xmms-1.2.10-r15 (-3dnow) +alsa -arts -directfb -esd* +flac -jack -lirc +mad +mikmod (-mmx) +mp3 +nls -oss -sndfile +vorbis 3,006 kB
[ebuild R ] media-sound/mpg123-0.59s-r9 (-3dnow) -esd (-mmx) -nas -oss 246 kB
[ebuild R ] media-plugins/xmms-mpg123-1.2.10-r1 (-3dnow) -ipv6 (-mmx) +ssl 528 kB |
And it works. But now I did a remerge again with the old flags | Code: | CFLAGS="-mcpu=750 -mtune=750 -O2 -pipe -ftracer"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS} -fvisibility-inlines-hidden" | .. and it still works.
Curious, but thanks. _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770 |
