Is anyone running 7.1 rc1? Is it a simple xorg-server version bump, or is there an overlay out there somewhere?

I've been running this version for a few minutes. Only the xorg-server package is under heavy development and it looks the complete Xorg-x11 7.1 version won't be very different from the version we are running on gentoo now (except for xorg-server and the x11-drivers which are under heavy development).
7.1 RC1 wasn't usable enough for me and I switched back to the stable version.

The XGL version shipped in RC1 doesn't compile yet. Those devs haven't finished porting XGL to Xorg's HEAD branche.

Hmm, kinda odd that they already put it in rc, since it isn't all that stable yet.
But then again, it does fit the timeframe they set out for (1 release every 6 months).

nvidia users (possibly ATI too, dunno) are going to have to wait for new drivers as a couple of API's changed in 7.1. One of them causes severe misrendering of fonts, the other may completely break Xv.

One the plus side, with new drivers supporting 7.1, Xv+Composite should work as well as nvidia's latest driver+GLX+Composite does :)

The X.Org 7.1 RC1 rpms hit Fedora Development yesterday and today, so far I see no major issues with my ATI Radeon 9250.

http://packages.gentoo.org shows xorg-server-1.0.99.2 and mesa-6.5-r1 are in portage but hard-masked.
