Bug 20426 describes a problem where bash 2.05b-r5 no longer accepts command-line arguments to shell scripts.

I'm having the same problem and was wondering if anyone knew a fix/workaround. I can't emerge much of anything because most of the configure scripts fail because they are not picking up their arguments.

Try a different shell or download a working copy of bash.

That obviously is not going to help solve the problem.

I've reverted CFLAGS to essentially nothing and done emerge -e bash and it still won't build a functional bash.

The machine sitting next to it, which is identical, works fine.

Most frustrating.

Rebuilding bison then emerging bash again did the trick, in case someone else runs across the same problem.
