Posted: Thu Jun 27, 2002 6:04 pm Post subject: KDE 3.0.2 ebuilds ? |
|
|
from KDE's mailing-lists
----------------------------
Monday June 24th, 2002: 3.0.2 tarballs are made available to the packagers
KDE_3_0_2_RELEASE and tarballs are made for the packagers. Announcement roughly
a week later.
----------------------------
Any idea on when KDE 3.0.2 ebuilds are showing up? since the packagers probably has gotten them, 3 days ago. and instead of merging the 3.0.1-20020604 builds that i have listed in my "emerge --pretend --update world" now (from the first original 3.0.1 ebuild/build/release), i'd like to wait for the 3.0.2 builds to arrive.
And since the 3.0.2 tarballs was given to packagers 3 days ago, im wondering about the status/timeframe ?

9:02 am tomorrow.
That's too early. I haven't had a chance to really savour KDE 3.0.1 yet. |

KDE 3.0.2 ebuilds are already in portage, they're masked, so if you want to chechk them out unmask and go ahead (I haven't done it yet). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

I guess Dirk hadn't released them yet. They usually wait for packagers to complete their work (and Gentoo user suffer ). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Yes, that was sarcasm. 3.0.2 will be released at the same time that all other software gets released:
When It's Ready.

Anyone know if this is just going to be another bug-fix release, or if we are going to start seeing all those nice things in CVS ^_^? _________________ aiya, tau tong ah! |

The 3.0 branch is feature frozen. Thus 3.0.2 will be a bugfix release. The CVS stuff will be in 3.1. See
http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-3.1-features.html
