Alsa + a7v8x sound problems

I have an Asus a7v8x motherboard and installed alsa ( via-82xx ). Each time when a song finishes in xmms the last second is repeated for like, 10 seconds before xmms switches to the next song. same thing happens when mplayer ends playing a movie, the sound keeps on going for like 10 seconds. any help?

I have one of these too but I haven't tried to mess with the sound yet (I use it as a server). I'll have to do some testing...
