help please!!! I need to change my /boot/grub/grub.conf file. How do I change with out starting over. I think I need to chroot back in, but I don't know how.

Well, reboot from livecd, then mount your /boot device (or / if /boot isn't an independent partition) in /mnt/gentoo, and then 'nano /mnt/gentoo/boot/grub/grub.conf'. Easy, isn't it

If he mounts his /boot partition in /mnt/gentoo then it should look like this /mnt/gentoo/grub/grub.conf |

Yep, but since in /boot there's /boot/boot that's more generic
I know it's confusing though: I could have said /mnt/gentoo/boot/boot/boot/grub/grub.conf

I thought that if someone who's new on linux reads this he/she might think that and extra /boot is added to the path just because it's the /boot partition. Like /home would be added to /mnt/gentoo just because you mount the partition with the home contents |
