open_wr: /root/.gconf/.testing.writeability
unlink: /root/.gconf/.testing.writeability
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state.tmp

You can often get around errors like that by disabling the sandbox feature: | Code: | | FEATURE="-sandbox" emerge bmpx | This doesn't work 100% of the time, but it's worth a try.
To fix it permanently, you need to contact whoever is maintaining the overlay with the error message you got so they can tweak the ebuild to fix it. |

Sorry, my mistake. That should have been: | Code: | | FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge bmpx |
FEATURES with an "S" at the end. D'oh! |

try starting the binary /usr/libexec/bmpx-bin but essentially this thread belongs to unsupported software _________________ "I knew when an angel whispered into my ear,
