Смотрю, уже во многих дистрах 7ка по дефолту стоит, а у нас все хардмаскед. Доколе?

До тех пор пока не перепишут ебилды и не портируют софт под xorg 7, если я правильно понимаю

У меня работает без нареканий, вроде бы.

У меня тоже работает. Ставил так же. Только в некоторых ебилдах (требующих старый xorg) пришлось самым грубым образом вырезать строчки RDEPEND="virtual/x11" :)
