When I try to emerge various programs I get errors... most of the times the errors disappear when i do ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~586" (it is a pentium 200 mmx).
But I tried to compile RPM now so I can use the binary KDE packages, because compiling KDE takes ages on this thingy...
and then I got an error that wasn't gone with the accept keywords command... the error was:
checking size of char... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (char), 77

Kinda clutching at straws here, but how does your Cflags (and cxx) look like? Post them here _________________ regards,

I think it would be best to not use rpm (really screws your system up really) and just leave kde compiling for a couple of days, or use a lightweight wm such as fluxbox or windowmaker, which will be much faster to compile...
What are the exact errors you get, and with which programs (we need the last couple of gcc commands before the errors, not just the !!! ERROR! HELP! msg portage spits out) _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
