When I choose to emerge -u world, I get the list fine and everything, but there are just one or two progrmas down the list that I don't want to update. how do I remove them from the emerge process? |

From the man page of emerge:
Code: | /var/cache/edb/world
Contains a list of all user-specified packages. You can safely
edit this file, adding packages that you want to be considered
in world class updates and removing those that you do not want
to be considered. |
Of course, if one of the packages showing up is a dependency for another package you do wish to update, it's going to show up anyway. Good luck! _________________ Vogon poetry is of course the third worst in the Universe. -- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy |
