Code:

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!!    /usr/portage/www-client/opera/opera-8.52.ebuild
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size

>>> Please ensure you have sync'd properly. Please try 'emerge sync' and
>>> optionally examine the file(s) for corruption. A sync will fix most cases.

I dropped the opera-8.52-20060201.5-shared-qt.i386-en.tar.bz2 file, emerge sync, and tried again but no dice.

You forgot to mention how you verified the validity of the ebuild.

If you didn't do that: Your system might be 0wned now.

And another system, that's possibly 0wned by someone else.

DO NOT DO emerge --digest OR ebuild digest UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!

I have 8.52 installed and didn't ebuild digest, so if anyone is still having this problem, emerge sync should fix it.

i did it more times from different server and it didn't help. somebody did change the ebuild and forgot to update digest.

if somebody can change ebuild in the portage for install rootkit why can he also not change the digest? i don't beleave the digest can secure you against bad ebuilds :-)
