Hi,
this problem is driving me nuts by now. The machine is an Acer Altos 11000, 1500M mem, intel 440 gx chipset with two intel P3 (tualatin) 1113 running on 845 MHz , AGP disabled always, two onboard adaptec 7880, onboard intel 825xx Ethernet, onboard ATI-who-cares, mylex 1100.
Installing from Gentoo CD 1.4 RC4 is possible (smp nohotplug doscsi, else hangs on hotplug) and works. After compiling the kernel (gentoo-sources, vanilla 2.4.20, 64GB ) and rebooting ist starts with "lost interrupt" on the IDE-controller. After this, two aha7880 are detected but no disk, the controller resets and disables the adapter after some yelling...
Now, Suse 8.2. Installs, boots, works. Same kernelversion. But I wanted Gentoo (guessed that already, do you )
Any ideas, please ?
