| Since some time I face the problem, that the contacts in kontact get frequently lost (order once per week). I can simply restore them be exchaning the std.vcf file in ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/ , which is always empty, when the contacts were lost. Nevertheless this is annoying. Does any have an idea what might cause this ? |

I took some time to play with kontact and see the following dependence:
Each time, when I access the contacts in kontact and e.g. search for a person and close afterwards kontact, then the file is empty...

I can report this same kind of problem, although not on my system but rather a co-workers...
I can't reproduce the problem on my system. Both systems run the same version of software & similar use flags (kde 3.5.1). one is amd64 (not affected) the other is prescott (affected).
I've been recovering from loss the same way you described, by just restoring from one of the .vcf_# files.
Have you found any information on this? |
