Hi All,
Trying to use the 2005.1 minimal live CD to install Gentoo on an Ultra 60, I get the following message:
Quote: |
Attempting to mount CD: - /dev/cdroms/cdrom0
No bootable medium found. Waiting for new devices...

I've searched the forums for the same error, but they all seem to focus on x86 or AMD64. This also happens with the 2005.0 minimal live CD.
Does anybody know what's going on here?
Thanks,
Vu. _________________ Gentoo Noob |

Does the CD-ROM get detected by the kernel?
If you're not sure, feel free to paste the output here for verification. |

Not sure if this is the right method for checking, but after typing 'shell', the output of 'cat /proc/scsi/scsi' shows two hard disks and my cdrom. Does that help? _________________ Gentoo Noob |

Just popped in a 2004.3 LiveCD and it's doing the same, except it's trying to mount from "/newroot/dev/cdroms/cdrom0".
Can anyone help? I really don't know how to get around this apart from trying solaris. _________________ Gentoo Noob |
