hello!
i have a problem and i don't know how to solve it:
emerge -c does not work on any ebuild, everything seems to be protected. for example when i try
i get:
Code: |
app-games/digger
selected: none
protected: 20020314
omitted: none
>>> clean: No packages selected for removal.
|
i am sure that nothing depends on digger (remake of an old dos game) and that nothing depends on many other packages i tried to remove via emerge -c. bwt, emerge -C works.
what could have caused this behavior? how can i fix it?
many thanks,
~michael |

I haven't tried emerge -c before but my interpretation of the man page on the clean option is that if you did emerge -c digger then it would clean out old versions of digger but leave the current one installed. But if you did emerge -c app-games/digger then it would clean out that specific version. So give that a shot and see if it works. _________________ Probably the last sound heard before the Universe folded up like a paper hat would be someone saying, "What happens if I do this?" - Terry Pratchett, Interesting Times |

use -C instead of -c _________________ AthlonXP 2100+ :: 512 MB DDR :: Radeon 8500 (128mb) :: Sound Blaster Audigy
