|
|
I ran emerge --sync this morning as always and found there was a update for kdelibs-3.5.x
So i start the the upgrade, but when it comes to kdelibs-3.5.1.tar.bz2, it's not on any of the ftp servers.
What might have hapened?
mod edit: sticky until KDE-3.5.1 is released.

From the changelog:
Version 3.5.1. Not yet released upstream, so package.masked for now.
I take it that the ebuild is just there as a placeholder until 3.5.1 is released. Any word on when that will be? Rumor is that it may be any time now. |

KDE 3.5.1 was tagged on the 20th, usually there is one week between tag and public release of the source code, so if my math skills dont let me down right now, i would bet that the release is around january the 27th. _________________ There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible than a man in the depths of an ether binge... |

|

Hi, emerged this week the ~86 Version if kdebae. The problem is that i cant emerge the language pack because it depends from kdelibs3.5.1 ! Must i wait in such case, or is there a workaround?
Emerging an older i18n is possible but settings for language are not working under KDE 3.5.1 |

Where are those posts from the duplicate threads?

Earthwings replied: Quote: | No, they are the same. The tarballs that are released are the same that are send to distribution developers some time before to let them build binary packages (or ebuilds). | Are you telling me those tarballs have been available for non-KDE people for more than a week now? Why not for me? If those tarballs don't change anymore, why are they hidden for me? _________________ Alle dingen moeten onzin zijn. |

The kde-i18n package seems to have been updated 6 days ago but everything else hasn't been touched in 8 or 9 days AFAIK.[/topic] |

It seems now kde-3.5.1 has hit all the gentoo mirrors, only the minor kdelibs-package is missing. The US-mirrors of kde.org have all the source packages, i have downloaded kdelibs from there. |

It's not missing. There is typo in kdelibs ebuild. There is:
Code: |
#SRC_URI="mirror://kde/stable/${PV}/src/${P}.tar.bz2"
SRC_URI="mirror://kde/stable/3.5/src/${P}.tar.bz2"
|
and should be:
Code: |
SRC_URI="mirror://kde/stable/${PV}/src/${P}.tar.bz2"
|

Yes, it was missing . I manually browsed the distfiles folder of a gentoo mirror in germany, and there was definitely no kdelibs-3.5.1.tar.bz2. Maybe today this is solved.
I did not notice that typo, and i think with the portage tree i have at home there was no typo at all, because i compiled kdelibs-3.5.1, and i had only the file "kdelibs-3.5.1.tar.bz2". No patch needed for the ebuild to work. No digest error, nothing. Maybe this typo was in the ebuild from Saturday or the days before, but the one from sunday was correct. _________________ ~x86 Duron 1.8GHz, 512 MB DDR, ATI Radeon 7500, SiS 735
