EDIT:
<pjp>
This poll is to gauge how to make changes. Once we've got ideas, I'll create full page mockups (or arrange for testing on our test forum) to go along with another poll on what to change it to.

The feature is helpful for moderation, so it won't go away entirely. Eventually, I want to add a profile enable/disable option, but that will done after the 'final' version is chosen and in place.

For those that find it truly unlikeable, I apologize for the inconvenience, and will work to get it resolved as quickly as I'm able.

Thanks,
</pjp>

It was a lot easier to skim through posts and locate ones hat you were interested in before they added the starter and timestamp to the same box as the tittle and page links?

Would right justifying the author and time alleviate the issue?

It's really nice to see who created a thread and when, so less dead threads are woken up.

I think that left aligning the author and right aligning the time would make it easier to read.

definantly would do it for me. :)

Krolden's version would also help and probably look a little nicer, keeping the links grouped together

jebus that was a fast response 8O

That'd be very nice for me.

I acctually like the new (left) alignment. :D

But I do find it disturbing, that when a thread is longer than one page, the [Goto page: 1, 2, 3] suddenly is located where I would expect author and timestamp. :?

I do not like this at all
but, as some prefer this, I checked for an enable/disable feature

Added a poll.

Different implementation ideas so far:
  • Right align author and date
  • Left align the author and right align the time
  • Switch pagination info with author and date
  • Left justify author/date, right justify page info

loki99: I had a similar impression when I first saw the page info and author next to each other. I've added some possibilities to the list above.

I'll add options to the list as people make them.

My vote goes to this one, but also adding the "greyification" of author/date as shown here (found in this french topic).

I like the grey look... hadn't thought of that. Could possibly do it for page info as well.

Different implementation ideas so far:
  • Right align author and date
  • Left align the author and right align the time
  • Switch pagination info with author and date
  • Left justify author/date, right justify page info
  • Greyification (author date info, maybe page info too)

Same here! Greyification (what a word! ) makes it better readable.

I fully agree.

My proposal is to add the timestamp inside the column "Author" as here.

I also like the idea of an author column would look great @ 1600x1200 :)

For now I've implemented the "greyification" as it's easier on the eye.

New thread so old opinions don't get mixed up with new ones...
