I want to create a livecd for a different architecture than x86? How do I proceed?
Obviously I can't go through the chroot step included in most howtos and I need to use the crosscompiler. Another requirement is to keep the livecd footprint to a minimum, no gcc, use uclibc, busybox, etc.

For some reason I can't find anybody who has done this and documented the process at leat a little bit.

C'mon! somebody must know ;-)

Which architecture exactly?

There is a LiveCD for Gentoo/MIPS, which provides a minimal environment for installing Gentoo on SGI machines... but that would be useless if your target is a Sparc workstation.
