I want to know if there are something like this
command -l packet
to list all files in that paket
and
command -l *
to view witch packets that are installed.......
the short vertion..... i want to have totaly contol over my systems pakets..

you can use epm, for example. See sys-apps/epm. It is a "rpm workalike for Gentoo Linux"
epm -qa

You need gentoolkit installed. Then use qpkg:
That lists all installed (-I) packages and their versions (-v). Pipe that to grep to search:
Code: | $ qpkg -I -v | grep apache
net-www/apache-2.0.45 *

for the list of the packages all you need to do is view the /var/cache/edb/world file _________________ tea+free software+law=hook
(deep inside i'm still a tux's little helper) |
