Hi, I just encountered a problem with my desktop environment. I use KDE, but my xorg server wont start. I had installed the japanese, chinese, and korean fonts, and got some unicode fonts as well. I installed the unicode fonts, and now for some reason, X11 won't start. The error I get is:
Fatal Server Error:
Module load failure
...
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection Reset by peer) on X server "0:0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

So... does anyone know what exactly caused this? I had added some new use flags, like cjk and stuff, but I've removed them since this error occured. I've also removed the asian language fonts, and unmerged everything that I had merged. I also changed the fonts back to "POSIX" or whatever they were, when you type locale. Thanks for the help.

It seems that there is a problem with libbitmap, but i have no idea what that is, or what it belongs to. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Okay, I did some googling, and found out that this is a common problem with the hardened USE FLAG... The thing is, is it safe for me to take out the hardened USE flag, and try 'emerge --update --deep --newuse world' and see if I can get xorg to work properly? Or should I just try the common work around using something called dlloader, which doesn't support ati or nvidia cards? (I have a Radeon 9800 XT and plan on doing some wine/cedega stuff)

Oh, and can someone explain what type of security enhancements the hardened USE flag actually offers? I don't really know anything about it, but I read a 5 word description saying it added security to gentoo. Thanks a lot guys. :)
