Hi,
I get the same error....on a complete different system (use+cflags).
Seems like 3.1.1a made it to portage a bit too soon?
Error in line 123.
Anyone?

Hi,
Tried to emerge KDE 3.1.1a on a different (fresh) gentoo installation. Same error....
Anyone actually got KDE 3.1.1a installed from fresh?
If not, it may be a thread for bugzilla?
regards,

Hi,
Plz someone help
This KDE 3.1.1a issue is getting somewhat frustrating. I have tried the install on 3 different machines...Same error everytime. They are all fresh Gentoo-installations.
I suspect no-one has an answer to the problem, but now I have a broken KDE installation on my work-machine...Im somewhat concerned about this error since I must rely on my work-machine to boot up every day.
So what I would like to do now is to remove KDE and forget that I initially saw it But I havent got a clue as to how many KDE-specific applications or related dependancies that actually DID get installed before the error. The error could (as I see it) be related to one of the packages installed prior to kde-base.
I cannot unemerge KDE since it never got installed in the first place...
What to do?
regards,
Supermule |

Hi,
Perhaps it a prog. that we both (and others) have installed...
I have:
Alsa
Alsa-xmms
Alsa-utils
Blackdown 1.4.1
Xmms
XML (libxml2 + libxslt)
Cups (and related)
Bootsplash (only package that is ~x86)
-all newest from portage...
Gentoo-sources kernel, enabled:
CDR,PARALLEL,BOOTSPLASH,VFAT,REISERFS,EXT2
System compiled from stage1. Running w/o problems beside this KDE issue.
AthlonXP 1800+ CPU, Asus K7V Motherboard, Asus Geforce 3 TI200 graphics.
Similar to your system dnmrkhm?
And those who actually has KDE 3.1.1a running any of these you DONT have?

Nope...doesnt seem to be anything similar there - besides the reiserfs, but that cant be it i guess...
Must be a reason why it works for some ppl, and not for others....?
