I'm having trouble making my truemobile 1150 MiniPCI card work with the D-Link
614+ accesspoint ont he 2.6 kernel. My Dell Latitude C400 is dualbootable and it works in Windows XP.
The card has worked before with the 2.4.x kernel but another accesspoint.
I'm beginning to think that the card is not detected correctly. Most parameter can be set with iwconfig except channel and frequency. Trying to set channel returns the error:

bash-2.05b# iwconfig eth1 channel 6
Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Operation not supported.

dhcpcd eth1 times out. Changing to channel 10 on the accesspoint which, according to iwlist is the current channel does not help.Have I overlooked something? What should I try next?

iwconfig gives(key is masked):

eth1 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"testnet" Nickname:"HERMES I"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.457GHz Access Point: 44:44:44:44:44:44
Bit Rate:11Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity:1/3
Retry limit:4 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx
Power Management:off

Here is the lsmod output (minus the snd stuff to make it smaller):

The relevant potion of dmesg likes like this:

Just for anybody who searches the archives in the future:

You have to change to "not managed" mode to change the channels by hand.
