Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the front panel LIVE DRIVE working under linux?
I haven't messed with my sound much, it worked straight out of the box. of course, i currently only have 2 analogue speakers, so the rear 2 might not be working, but that is a worry for another day.
I don't seem to even have an /etc/emu10k1.conf file so i can not uncomment out the LiveDrive line of code I read about in my forum search. I compiled my sound as part of the kernel when i did the install.
Thanks for the help,

To get the Live Drive working, you need either the emu10k1 driver package installed (media-sound/emu10k1) or ALSA installed (media-sound/alsa-driver). The kernel driver lacks the utilities (provided by the emu10k1 driver package) to inferface with the Live Drive.
You will need to read the documentation for both packages as to how to enable each of the features of the Live Drive. The emu10k1 package uses the /etc/emu10k1.conf and ALSA specifies these in the modules options AFAIK. |
