I do occasionally. Plan on using it more often though. What's the new project? |

I would really like to, can anyone point me to how? My searching didn't really give me much on the forums... _________________ Linux dreammachine 2.6.16-rc3-nitro1 #1 PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 15:56:10 EST 2006 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+ GNU/Linux

|
|
Hi
When I try and load X with this kernel, I get the following error
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia0 (Input/output error).
(EE) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving
(EE) NVIDIA(0): interrupts generated by the NVIDIA graphics device.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Please see the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section in the
(EE) NVIDIA(0): README for additional information.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
I am using nvidia-kernel-1.0.7676, which works fine with other kernels...
I am on an amd64 architecture.
I did try acid with both ACPI enabled and disabled and got the same error.
cheers

Have you reemerged nvidia-kernel
You have to do an emerge nvidia-kernel any time you recompile a kernel... _________________ Linux dreammachine 2.6.16-rc3-nitro1 #1 PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 15:56:10 EST 2006 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+ GNU/Linux

I made some test about IO performance for this kernel. It looks still like cfs is little bit faster for IO than anticipatory. Mostly cfq even need less cpu time.
So i switched back to cfq default |

and yea, Tiger, how about 2.6.14-rc5-acid kernel ? Patch is already there. But it looks like part of it already is a part of actual rc4-acid1. |

got this error which is pretty irritating, when i try to move from X to console, while X is running or shutting down, i get an error:
Sync Out of Range
from the monitor. Now this is something i have seen for the first time ever!! (well it was there with 14-rc-3-nitro too though).
so som1 kindly lemme know a solution to this.
when i am switching, if i go back to X things are again normal. But i do need the console at times
thanks in adv

Hi, the sources seems great. But when I boot with them my software raid will not work. There was a new raid transport option, neither works. The config now is as exact a copy of the .config of my nitrosources which works great. How do I debug? |
