Hi...
I read a thread about having both gcc 2.95.3 and gcc 3.2.2 on the same system, and the thread said that it would work right out of the box.
So I did an: emerge /usr/portage/sys-devel/gcc/gcc-2.95.3.ebuild
and then I did an: gcc-config i686-pc-linux-gnu-2.95.3
to use gcc 2.95.3 to compile an old 2.2 kernel.
But now, nothing works!! Many program fails with an error message like the following:
#env-update
/usr/bin/python2.2: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
What is wrong, and how do I correct it!!
Thanks in advance

Fixed it myself...
Apprently the problem is that gcc-config has a problem with updating the correct paths to the libs.
So when you have done a: gcc-config i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.2.2 (or 2.95.3) you have to do:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.2"
and then source /etc/profile and env-update works...
Maybe this is a bug in gcc-config or is there something that i'm missing??
