I'm doing this research project on compiler optimizations, and I need the help of some of you gurus out there. I don't have access to any machine with a G4/+ running linux with GCC 3.2. Does gcc vectorize floating-point math the way it does for the x86 and Itanium platforms (e.g. -mfpmath=sse -msse...)? Does anybody know if it even goes beyond this and vectorizes integer code?
The reason I ask is that it'll be 3 days before my request for a PPC/Altivec machine comes through, and I'd like to have a little background info. before I jump into it. =) It's due two days afterwards. =p
Interested flags: -mcpu=7450 -mtune=7450 -maltivec -mabi=altivec
Got any more or some cool info., please let me know? |
