Greetings.
I followed Ferris instructions,

on setting up the microcode on a SPARC64 and I also have looked around and found a sticky note,

which also addresses this and other issues. I have followed these and others suggestions on getting gnome to work, but I can't. I know it's something simple, but I am lost now. Any ideas? Here is the output of startx script:

It looks as if X is not finding an xorg.conf... see this line:
(EE) Unable to locate/open config file
and
(==) Using default built-in configuration (53 lines)
Make sure you have a valid config file in /etc/X11

That was it. You're a life-savior! You have no idea how much I was trying to make this work. I thought that X would look in the default HOME directory of the user and use that xorg.conf file. My mistake.
