I' currently using a Athlon 1Ghz 1G ram with Matrox G450 and I'm very pleased with its performance. Now I get the opertunity to upgrade my system to a AthlonXp 2600+ 1G ram and Nvidia ti4800. Everywhere I hear about slow gnome 2.2 and metacity/. I don't have those problems at the moment, will I've them with my new setup?
In short I know the 3D will be faster but what about 2D? |

| Depends on the driver version, but I'm sure the 2D performance will be more than satisfactory with the newest drivers and a Ti4800. Cripes, I run a GeForce 3 Ti200 with 128MB, and it blazes along. |
