|
|
Dear other Gentoo-users
I am using aMSN a long time, and I like it very much but the old 0.94 version doesn't have all the functionality I would like to see in a MSN client. So I decieded to use the CVS version. After that decision I am using aMSN from the CVS for a while with great success. WebCam support is great all the new themes and all the other better functionality.
I searched for a ebuild but I didn't find it, and so I decieded to make an ebuild on my own.
It makes live much easier now for me it's now everything only one line to type and I have an up-to-date version
Before I will give you a hyperlink to the ebuild(s) I will tell something about them.
I decieded to make two ebuilds, one for the main program (aMSN) and one for the aMSN-extras.
aMSN-extras is an collection of Skins and Plugins wich aren't in the main distribution but are official maintained by the aMSN dev's. So you have two ebuilds.
So you are now a bit intrested in the ebuild I think ?
You can find the ebuilds on this address:
http://www.priyantha.nl/gentoo/ebuilds/
PS. Sorry for the bad english _________________ Greetings, Priyantha Bleeker

Thanks,
will check it out right away!
EDIT: Installed it, looks nice, with many new features and some of which I really missed already
The only problem is that scrollbars are big and green and I can't find a way to change them. _________________ War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ketchup is a vegetable. |

I saw in the logs that there were many from this topic wich had downloaded the files.
But I didn't see any reaction on the working of the ebuilds.
Maybe it is possible to post some feedback ? So I can make the ebuilds a bit better or something else. _________________ Greetings, Priyantha Bleeker |

As I already said, works nicely and no problems so far
If I only could get rid of the ugly big green scrollbar
And thanks for your effort once again! _________________ War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ketchup is a vegetable. |

currently i'm using the zugaina's ebuild. You have another ebuild of amsn-extras which has the skins you said, is that different from the one in the portage? _________________ whitesouls

I don't know the zugaina's ebuild(an link ?).
But about amsn-extras, amsn-extras is an extra ebuild with more than the standard skins and plugins. Nothing more nothing less. _________________ Greetings, Priyantha Bleeker |

Code: | Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/amsn
cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from cvs.sourceforge.net: M -!- Client or Server timeout occurred!
!!! ERROR: net-im/amsn-cvs-0.95 failed.
!!! Function cvs_fetch, Line 337, Exitcode 1
!!! cvs login command failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. |
Any ideas? Unless I just happened to hit it when the server was down? _________________ Adopt an unanswered post today |

See my message above.
Appears to be a server problem, not an ebuild problem. Have tried logging in via other means with no success. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post today |

Here using the Zugaina's ebuild. But, thanks a lot for amsn-extras-cvs! No plugin designed to work with aMSN 0.94 works with CVS, so, thank you! _________________ Becoming someone beautiful, through my music, my silent devotion...

your welcome and the credit goes to the owner of the site. but i couldnt make the amsn-extra-cvs to work with my amsn. i'm using my amsn with the normal plugins such as nudge and webcam support which i already using it.
you can even setup zugaina as your portage overlay which iis damn useful _________________ whitesouls
