Hey I'm really missing this program om my computer since I dropped windows 2 years ago.

DVDProfiler ( http://www.intervocative.com ) is a DVD collection manager, it's the best I've ever tried but it's of course Windows-only and it doesn't look like the developers will ever port it.

I've tried getting it to run under WINE, but never quiet managed it, have anyone succeeded? How?

What about alternatives? As a mininum it most be able to have a description of the movie, a feature list and a small cover for each movie. And preferably a printable collection list with small cover images.

oddly enough, there's a app in bugs.gentoo.org that does just that, and its linux based. Griffith should do what you want/need it to do.

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100003

Please note that there was some serious makefile editing to get this to build right. It should work, but haven't tested it with all its dependencies.

meh, due to a nice fun discovery by a friend, the ebuild is fooked. lib apparently to this developer = python scripts required to run (partially my fault for not looking closely enough to see them)

Do you know which python module provides "about"?

I get this error when I try to run griffith:
Code:

raceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/griffith", line 42, in ?
    import about
ImportError: No module named about

I've been using tellico (in portage) for that purpose for quite a while. And it also does book collection and many things more. There's also alexandria (in portage)

The "about" module would be one of the modules that griffith provides in it's package. If it installed it sounds like the python path was not updated properly.

I am leaving on a vacation in the morning so I don't have time to look at it.
