|
|
I am currently toying with beagle (a mono based files indexing) on my amd64, and apart from unmasking quite a few packages, I also need to have the mono USE flag set (which is masked on amd64..)
Google only returned suggestions about tweaking directly /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/use.mask, but this is of course removed after every "emerge sync". I tried creating a "/etc/portage/profile/use.unmask", but this did not help...
For now, I'm sed'ing the use.mask after sync, waiting for mono flag to be unmasked, but is there another solution?
Sorry if the answer lies somewhere in the forums, the search system filters use in "use.mask" and therefore returns many many results _________________ Routinely breaking NX, GNUstep, net-ftp, miscellaneous (llvm, filezilla, rdesktop, chromium, ...) packages

Using the /etc/portage/profile directory ought to have been the right idea, but i think it will only recognise file-names that already exist in the standard profile-heirachy - hence, no 'use.unmask'...
...Therefore, see if a double-negative works :- Code: | echo "-mono" >> /etc/portage/profile/use.mask |
...Note the 'negative' prefix to the 'mono' USE-flag, & the 'use.mask' file-name... _________________ "Anyone who goes to see a psychiatrist should have their head examined!" |

Hum I wonder if this works with masking in package.unmask and unmasking in package.mask?
Anyway thanks a lot, "-mono" in use.mask works fine! _________________ Routinely breaking NX, GNUstep, net-ftp, miscellaneous (llvm, filezilla, rdesktop, chromium, ...) packages |

It's being used for just that purpose in /usr/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2005.1/package.mask already (based on my installed version of portage) :- Code: | # These are provided by non-emul packages now
-=app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-glibc-1000 |

You're welcome! It's good to know for future reference - i mean, the theory was sound, but i'd never actually tried it... _________________ "Anyone who goes to see a psychiatrist should have their head examined!" |
