Hi,

I've just upgraded to 2.6.12-morph7 with rtp patch and ati-drivers-8.14.13-r2 and I have trouble compiling the DRM module:

Could anyone help??? This happens because of ati-drivers or the kernel itself?

It seems like the realtime-preempt patch is not compatible with the ati drivers. I'm sorry but there is not much I can do about this. I'll try to come up with a fix (a patch for the ati drivers) ASAP. In the meantime disable the rtp patch, this should fix the error.

Oh, and BTW I'm sorry about the site downtime. We are changing provider, so the ride will be a little bumpy for a while

Hello,

sorry for not posting updates, but real life has been pretty hectic lately. Now I'll be on holidays for 10 days (Sardinia, here I come :) ). Yes, I know I promised a new morph-sources release, but I really had not the time to do it. I'll be back full time after the sea.

See you in a while :)

I get these problems:

Code:
if [ -r System.map -a -x /sbin/depmod ]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map  2.6.12-morph7; fi
WARNING: /lib/modules/2.6.12-morph7/video/nvidia.ko needs unknown symbol __down_failed

They, of course, make impossible-to-use two critical modules.

For the first one, I think it has to do with the realtime-preempt patch... Just disable it and nVidia's drivers should work...

As for the second one, reiser4 needs the Deflate Compression Algorithm (Cryptographic options > Cryptographic API). Make sure you enable it...

I was tied to 2.6.11 morph releases because of problems with (vanilla) 2.6.12 kernel and Sil SATA+Seagate SATA. I changed the HD of box, so... I'm now looking forward trying latest morph sources :)
But I have a question: is Win4Lin present as for latest 2.6.11 morph (it was not the case for earlier 2.6.12 morph)?
Otherwise, I'll wait the next Win4Lin patched morph-kernel.

Hello,

I'm back, got 2.6.13-morph1 running fine on my laptop. I will upload it to mirrors soon. The website is still down, we are having problems changing provider (damn Telecom Italia!). Downloads will be available as usual from sourceforge.

Cya!

hi, yardbird!
i'm a fan of your morph-patchset.. :)

i have one question.
i know that supporting win4lin is on the planning.
but i have used win4lin about 1-year.

i tried to apply the win4lin patch to morph-source and compile,
(of course edited reject files on hand.)
but i could not finish them. error messages occured.

how can i use win4lin?

I use 2.6.11-morph11, I think it's the last morph that is Win4Lin patched.

I agree with you, but since there isn't still any reiser4 support, I have to stick with morph-sources...

There's alternatives, like archck, http://iphitus.loudas.com or the slightly more unstable nitro.

Still no fresh morph, but the site is working...

Anyway, even if it isn't working, you could always try http://sourceforge.net/projects/morph-sources

hey yardbird, how've you been?
I'm a big fan of your morph-sources! I recommended you morph-sources to lots of Chinese gentoo fans via this thread (in Chinese). Two months without any update to morph-sources, what happened?

I bought a new laptop and I'm installing a fresh new gentoo~ I need your morph-sources ;)

Morph doesnt look like it will be giving a release soon.

There are other patchsets which provide the same things that morph does, such as archck, acid and nicus.

But i guess only morph-sources has realtime-preempt with "Complete Preemption" option that is very usefull for musicians for egzample.
