I was wondering about this for a few days, and since all the scanner I have seen are either windows based or mac based, how do you guys know if your firewall is working?

i go to http://scan.sygate.com every once in a while to check my system.

you can also go to grc.com and do their shields up probe. It does basically the same as sygate but not as thorough
