|

I am using gentoo now quite a while and love it but
since the last fuck up on all mirrors and mein server not ever thing seems to be sorted out none of my
emerge -up world
will complete with out any problems
Today Opara killed me Opera:
>>> emerge (1 of 7 net-www/opera-6.12 to /
>>> No message digest entry found for archive "opera-6.12-20030305.1-static-qt.i386.tar.gz."
!!! Most likely a temporary problem. Try 'emerge rsync' again later.
!!! If you are certain of the authenticity of the file then you may type
!!! the following to generate a new digest:
!!! ebuild /usr/portage/category/package/package-version.ebuild digest
is there a way to do
emerge -up world -without opera
??
FtR
PS I don not want t modifiy my world file
ok once I am here
I am usign lilo as boot loader
an removed "grub" from my world file
but an update world will allways install "grub" into my system
any known way to stop that ?? |

emerge inject opera
you might have to specify the whole name of opera (version etc..)
oh and mind your language please, although I doubt we have many youngsters here, you never know _________________ ^<^>^<^>^

I had this same problem with another package and did what my error message told me to
Code: | ebuild /usr/portage/category/package/package-version.ebuild digest | Its even in your error message.

To fix the opera problem do
Code: | ebuild /usr/portage/net-www/opera/opera-6.12.ebuild digest
emerge -u opera |
If you do not use grub anymore and wish to remove it do Code: | mount /boot
emerge -C grub |
To find out more about emerge usage do
Code: | emerge --help | less |

Have a look at /var/cache/edb/virtuals. There may be a line where grub is providing virtual/bootloader. Changing that to lilo may help. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
