I was trying to emerge mod_php, and this happened. This is on a fresh install from yesterday. I changed my make.conf to "-X -qt" and it skipped qt, but still wondering what is wrong.
Code:
>>> Source unpacked.
cups
gif
mysql
opengl
XRender support cannot be enabled due to functionality tests!
Turn on verbose messaging (-v) to ./configure to see the final report.
If you believe this message is in error you may use the continue
switch (-continue) to ./configure to continue.

!!! ERROR: x11-libs/qt-3.1.0-r3 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 102, Exitcode 101
!!! (no error message)

My emerge info is:
Code:
omega root # emerge info

I have this same problem, on the same package, but on "Xft support" My USE flags:

USE="xvid dvd aalib imap samba snmp kde qt snmp -gnome nvidia gl"

The error message:

Code:
Xft support cannot be enabled due to functionality tests!
Turn on verbose messaging (-v) to ./configure to see the final report.
If you believe this message is in error you may use the continue
switch (-continue) to ./configure to continue.

!!! (no error message)

Perhaps there's a problem with the qt-3.1.0-r3 ebuild?

I have this same problem and I have no idea how to fix it. And now I'm screwed because I need to re-compile QT with mysql support.

I think I'm going to switch to Debian. I've been getting too many dumb problems like this with Gentoo and absolutely no help is out there on the internet to fix them.
