Hi
This is a really weird problem i cant seem to fix ive got a toshiba laptop with a cyberblade xp gfx card, now in redhat 8.1 and suse 8.0 open gl worked fine. My last install of gentoo open gl worked fine *with xfree 4.3.0* now this gentoo install opengl doesnt exist and im using xfree 4.3.0 again. i do get the error message
Code:
Xlib: extention "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

whenever running any gl. Ive added opengl to my make.conf and emerge -C xfree and ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge xfree again but its not fixed the problem.
Is this a problem with Xfree 4.3.0 because im sure i read somewhere that the newer version of x doesnt support opengl for my chipset, im not sure if thisis a truth or not thou. Im not using any sort of DRM *mostly because ive no idea what im doing with that* but i know for sure i didnt have it enabled in my old gentoo install!
Thanks to any replies
[b]edit[/b[ do i need mesa installed? would downgrading to xfree 4.2.1 fix the prob?

do you have

Load "glx"
uncommented in your /etc/X11/XF86Config file?

I don't know your card at all, but make sure you have that. That's all i have off the top of my head.
