I have a 12.1 inch XGA TFT LCD screen..
What settings do most of you with this kind of
monitor use?

this is for my laptop.. the current settings work well..
however they do cause some blur.. which can be
observed if one is careful..
so i feel i am harming my screen..
any suggestions?

thanx

XGA is a standard which includes more than one resolution
you should find out which resolution your tft supports (my guess is 1024x768).

If you configured X to be displayed at a lower res your screen will look blury.

the other notable thing is that tfts usually want a refresh rate of 60Hz (you can set it higher, but it will just slow your graphic card a little)
take a look at my monitor section in XF86Config:

Code:

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier   "Monitor0"
        VendorName   "Monitor Vendor"
        ModelName    "Monitor Model"
        HorizSync       30-60
        VertRefresh     40-90
EndSection
