Emerge inject always fails, no matter what package I'm trying to inject. Same error message everytime.
!!! <package_name_here> is not a specific cat/pkg-version, skipping...
Tried to re-merge portage didn't help
I need to inject gentoo-sources and blackdown-jdk-1.3.1-r7 to emerge -pU world. |

did you also specify the category ? to inject a package you have to use
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r2
for example...must contain exact version (no wildcards like *) and category |

First I tried just Code: | emerge -i gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1 | then I was too specific and tried Code: | emerge -i /usr/portage/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources/gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1.ebuild |
Code: | emerge -i sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1 | works ok, thanks Scandium. |
